Antique - Beginner Level
Antique
The name comes for the look of your picture when you are finished.
It can give it an "antique" look or just a softening of the colors.
It all depends on the Opacity setting you choose.
I want to thank my sister, Ammie, at
DoodlePie for allowing me to use this picture she took.

Any similarity to other tutorials is coincidental.
For this tutorial, you need Paint Shop Pro and a picture of your choice.
A very colorful picture is best.
I used Paint Shop Pro version X, but you may also use 8 or 9.
This tutorial assumes you have some knowledge of Paint Shop Pro and will not go into things
like how to select a layer in your layer palette, etc.
It is a rather quick tutorial.
Step 1
Select your picture and create a duplicate to work on (Shift-D.)
Step 2
Duplicate your layer.
You may do this by selecting the Duplicate Layer icon in the Layer Palette:

Save your image. Just a friendly reminder!
Step 3
Make sure you have your top layer selected.
In PSP X, choose Effects, Photo Effects, Sepia Toning.
In PSP 8 or 9, choose Effects, Artistic Effects, Sepia Toning.
I used 50 for my amount of aging.
Choose which you prefer.
Save your image. Just a friendly reminder!
Step 4
In your layer palette, on your sepia layer, adjust your opacity to show the amount of
color you prefer.
In this one, I used 81.

Save your image. Just a friendly reminder!
Step 5
Add text or anything else you wish, because you're all done!
See nice and easy!
